ABOUT

Ion Sokhos was born in 1978 in New York City. Although he took one formal photography class in high school, his fascination with photography began on weekends in the woods while obtaining his BA in Economics from the University of Vermont. It wasn't until years later when he was moonlighting as a photo editor/photographer for a culture and style magazine in Boston that he decided to quit his day job and move to NYC to assist commercial photographers and learn all that he could. He's since worked with a wide roster of clients in various industries and has seen his work published consistently in regional as well as national publications. (a partial client list can be seen here) Ion currently lives near Boston, Massachusetts with his son, Jack.

Since November '11 Ion has been contracted as the Photography and Design Coordinator for John Snow Inc., a Public Health Research and Consulting firm based in Boston, MA.

He is available for freelance work with select clients.
